Increase Your Revenue Using Pay Per Click

Hi Bold Marketers, It’s totally in your power to increase revenue for your affiliate business. There are many ways of doing it. The fastest method to earn affiliate income is to use PPC advertising for promoting your websites. However, you need to be very careful, because PPC can also be a way of losing a lot of money very quickly, if you don’t know how to do it the proper way.

First of all, you need to check with each affiliate program you want to promote, if they allow affiliates to use PPC and if there are any interdictions of bidding on certain keywords. There are merchants who don’t want their affiliates to bid on trademark keywords. Others won’t let you bid higher than they do on certain keywords, so you have to make sure that your PPC campaign complies with the merchant’s rules, otherwise you may get suspended and not paid the commissions you’re entitled to.

After you have these settled, you need to develop a big list of keywords for your PPC campaign. Most of them won’t be productive, but you can’t know that from the very beginning, so you need to bid on them, watch your stats, then weed out those keywords that don’t convert and focus on those ones that bring you the best revenue. The maximum bid amount is also very important, as it may turn your campaign into a big winner or a pathetic loser.

Always do your calculations: after a test period, determine which is your average conversion rate, then multiply it by the number of visits and by the average amount you earn at each conversion. Then deduct your expenditure and your taxes, in order to see which is your net profit for each click. The amount you can afford to bid for not losing money should be less that this figure. The easiest way to do this math is to keep a spreadsheet and play with different bidding scenarios.

When using pay per click, don’t ignore the fact that your landing page can be a major factor of conversion. You need to test several variants of landing page in order to see which one is performing the best.

If you are careful, you can set up an affiliate website today and start making money as early as tomorrow, instead of waiting for months or years until your SEO efforts push your website on the first page in Google for your desired keywords.

Yes, PPC is definitely worth it. And not just with Adwords. There are lots of smaller PPC search engines as well as contextual ad servers that are worth trying.

I have used Clicksor, Bidvertiser and Adtoll among others. They all seem to be pretty good. They are very straight-forword to use, and the clicks are pretty cheap.

Of course Adwords is the king. But setting it up is quite involved, and the clicks are quite expensive. Still, it does deliver the best quality traffic, with more signups and sales than the others.
